Lenovo is teasing the launching of K8 Note smartphone on August 9th
in India. It is the successor to the popular budget smartphone, Lenovo
K6 Note. Till date, there is not much information available about the
device. Now, the Lenovo K8 Note along with K8 Plus listings are spotted
on the benchmark website, Geekbench. With these listings, we also came
to know about a couple of key specifications. Both the devices run on
the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. Last week, the company
also confirmed to ditch the in-house Vibe UI in favor of the vanilla
flavored UI.
The upcoming Lenovo K8 Note will be first Lenovo
smartphone to run on the stock Android. It comes powered by the 64-bit
MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor (MT6796) clocked at 1.85GHz.
There is also 4GB of RAM to offer seamless multitasking on this budget
smartphone. The K8 Note has scored 1551 points on the single-core test
and 4664 points on the multi-core tests. Earlier launched K6 Note came
with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset and 3GB of RAM. Talking about the
K6 Plus, it packs the latest MediaTek Helio P25 (MT6757CD) octa-core
processor clocked at 1.69GHz.It is mentioned to include just
It is
mentioned to include 3GB RAM which 1GB lesser than what we see on the
K8 Note. The K8 Plus has scored just 861 points on the single-core test
and 3761 points on the multi-core test. As of now, there is no
information about the launch of K8 Plus. The Lenovo K8 Note launching on
August 9th is expected to be priced between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 15,000
price range. It will be exclusively sold through Amazon.in in India.
Last week, Lenovo also opened six exclusive offline stores called ‘Moto
Hubs’ in Mumbai and NCR regions. However, the Moto hubs will be selling
only Moto branded devices, and we don’t expect to see Lenovo devices
anytime soon.
The company plans to open a total of 50 Moto hubs by
the end of this year. Even Xiaomi has opened three ‘Mi Home’ retail
stores in Bengaluru to cut middleman costs in the offline market. While
the K8 Note is Amazon exclusive, we guess the K8 Plus will be sold via
offline stores. Since the official launch event is just two days away,
we expect more leaks to follow soon. Stay tuned on Phone Radar for
