Fix: a "failed to download package files" error in Linux OS?

0

This error is that Update Manager is using a server that doesn’t have that specific package version, not yet. If you do not know already, when you install Ubuntu or any other Linux OS, the software sources are set by default to the server mirror near your location. This is to ensure that software downloads (and updates) are at a good speed.

Let’s fix it: 👩‍🏭

  1. Go to Software Source:
  2. In the Linux Software tab, change the server to the Main server.
  3. Save your change. It will update the software cache. Run the Update Manager again. The update should work just fine now.

You Can try this method too: 🤩

Change the download location to Main Server or another server close to the country you live in and try to sudo apt-get update again.
